Y vamos, s\u00ed lo es, pero no en el sentido m\u00e1s gen\u00e9rico y lamentable. En realidad, es m\u00e1s una comedia <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">slasher<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> que se burla de las convenciones del subg\u00e9nero, entre varias otras cosas.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Lee tambi\u00e9n: <a href=\"https:\/\/news.filmelier.com\/mx\/critica-tron-ares-pelicula\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cr\u00edtica de <em>Tron: Ares<\/em>: impriman m\u00e1s creatividad<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><iframe title=\"EL PAYASO DEL MAIZAL - Trailer Oficial HD\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ny1xbrm3kf0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El resultado puede no ser tan ingenioso como se esperar\u00eda de una comedia de terror que pretende burlarse de la actual polarizaci\u00f3n generacional y pol\u00edtica de los Estados Unidos. Pero cualquier fan del terror, sus absurdos y contradicciones, encontrar\u00e1 bastantes motivos para re\u00edr aqu\u00ed.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00bfDe qu\u00e9 trata?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Luego de una tragedia familiar, la adolescente Quinn (Katie Douglas) y su padre (Aaron Abrams) se mudan al pueblo rural de Kettle Springs, Misuri. Ah\u00ed, la comunidad ha sufrido una tragedia: un incendio en la f\u00e1brica de jarabe de ma\u00edz Baypen cobr\u00f3 vidas y dej\u00f3 a muchos sin empleo. Muchos culpan a Cole Hill (Carson MacCormac), hijo del alcalde y due\u00f1o de la f\u00e1brica, y a su grupo de amigos.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Quinn se une al grupo, que tiene por afici\u00f3n crear videos en los que la mascota de Baypen, Frendo el payaso, comete asesinatos ficticios. El grupo de adolescentes, por ejemplo, son estigmatizados en el pueblo, y criticados por hacer videos en redes sociales.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Estas brechas cobran un mayor significado cuando los asesinatos de Frendo introducen violencia a la ecuaci\u00f3n y polarizan a las facciones. El director y coguionista Eli Craig toma una postura clara que critica el estancamiento moral nost\u00e1lgico de la generaci\u00f3n <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">boomer<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. No obstante, no deja de burlarse de la frivolidad o franca incompetencia de los <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">millennials<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> y <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">centennials<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, capaces de producir videos en minutos, pero derrotados por un tel\u00e9fono de disco.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A pesar de que la violencia en pantalla puede ser expl\u00edcita y violencia, es aqu\u00ed donde <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El payaso del maizal<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> se planta firme en la comedia. Las convenciones del <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">slasher<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> son objeto de burla frecuente, si bien nunca llegan a ser subvertidas. Empresarios, pol\u00edticos y fuerzas del orden se coluden para crear histeria, dividir y conquistar. No resulta dif\u00edcil pensar en el payaso de la Casa Blanca en Washington y extrapolar los hechos a una s\u00e1tira sobre la divisi\u00f3n social de los Estados Unidos en la actualidad.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sin embargo, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El payaso del maizal<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> no va mucho m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de eso. Y tampoco est\u00e1 mal.
