{"id":54552,"date":"2025-07-09T16:09:21","date_gmt":"2025-07-09T19:09:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.filmelier.com\/?p=54552"},"modified":"2025-07-09T16:25:23","modified_gmt":"2025-07-09T19:25:23","slug":"critica-bird-pelicula-andrea-arnold","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.filmelier.com\/mx\/critica-bird-pelicula-andrea-arnold\/","title":{"rendered":"Cr\u00edtica de \u2018Bird\u2019: una m\u00e1gica historia sobre madurar en los m\u00e1rgenes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hay muchas maneras de representar la marginalidad en el cine, y mucho tiene que ver con el lugar de enunciaci\u00f3n de quien retrata estas realidades sociales. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.filmelier.com\/mx\/peliculas\/25582\/bird\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><i>Bird<\/i><\/a> (Reino Unido, Francia, Alemania y Estados Unidos, 2024) viene a confirmar que, en ese sentido, pocos cineastas tienen la sensibilidad de la inglesa Andrea Arnold (conocida por <i>Fish Tank<\/i> y <a href=\"https:\/\/www.filmelier.com\/mx\/peliculas\/18235\/vaca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><i>Vaca<\/i><\/a>), originaria de Kent, al sudeste del pa\u00eds, y especialista en contar historias sobre mujeres que se dan de bruces con el mundo adulto en sus formas m\u00e1s hostiles.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Lee tambi\u00e9n:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/news.filmelier.com\/mx\/critica-corazones-jovenes-pelicula\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cr\u00edtica de\u00a0<em>Corazones j\u00f3venes<\/em>: volver a enamorarse<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><iframe title=\"Bird |Tr\u00e1iler Oficial |Tulip Pictures\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/x50ueIF4POE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Porque si bien esta pel\u00edcula podr\u00e1 contar con actuaciones de rostros m\u00e1s conocidos, como Barry Keoghan (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.filmelier.com\/mx\/peliculas\/20210\/los-espiritus-de-la-isla\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><i>Los esp\u00edritus de la isla<\/i><\/a>) y Franz Rogowski (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.filmelier.com\/mx\/peliculas\/23202\/pasajes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><i>Pasajes<\/i><\/a>), Arnold est\u00e1 igual de aterrizada que siempre en la experiencia juvenil femenina en los m\u00e1rgenes de la sociedad inglesa, ahora anclada en el potente debut actoral de Nykiya Adams.<\/p>\n<p>La directora mantiene el realismo social como su norte, pero esta pel\u00edcula presenta una diferencia peque\u00f1a, aunque clave: la mezcla con elementos de realismo m\u00e1gico y hermosos simbolismos del mundo animal para contar esta historia inici\u00e1tica.<\/p>\n<h2>\u00bfDe qu\u00e9 se trata?<\/h2>\n<p>La trama de <i>Bird<\/i> sigue a Bailey (Adams), una chica de 12 a\u00f1os que lleva una vida familiar compleja: vive en un edificio destartalado de Kent, Inglaterra, con su padre Bug (Keoghan), la novia de \u00e9ste, Kayleigh (Frankie Box); y su medio hermano, Hunter (Jason Buda). Es un entorno en el Bailey que no encaja: siente rabia cuando su padre anuncia que se casar\u00e1 con Kayleigh el siguiente s\u00e1bado, a pesar de s\u00f3lo tener tres meses de conocerse. Mientras tanto, Hunter participa en un grupo de justicieros adolescentes, que golpean a personas acusadas de abusar de otros.<\/p>\n<p>Enojada con su padre y despu\u00e9s de presenciar un ataque del grupo, Bailey huye a dormir a un campo. Al despertar, se encuentra con un misterioso hombre que se hace llamar Bird (Rogowski), quien est\u00e1 en busca de la familia que perdi\u00f3 cuando era ni\u00f1o. Ser\u00eda mejor describirlas como emp\u00e1ticas, para bien y para mal: capturan la belleza solitaria en el mundo de Bailey, pero los movimientos de c\u00e1mara tambi\u00e9n reflejan los momentos de agitaci\u00f3n emocional o f\u00edsica. Hay violencia en este entorno, y Arnold nunca niega esa realidad.<\/p>\n<p>Por un lado, Bailey experimenta la negligencia de un padre m\u00e1s ocupado por atender sus impulsos que los intereses y necesidades de los hijos. Por otro lado, el contexto de las amistades y la familia extendida es turbulento en el mejor de los casos, y peligroso en el mejor.<\/p>\n<p>La protagonista est\u00e1, en cierto modo, a la deriva en su b\u00fasqueda por autoafirmaci\u00f3n y pertenencia en donde las opciones son pocas. Por medio de esta compasi\u00f3n, Arnold descubre un mundo oculto detr\u00e1s de esta precariedad, y con sus im\u00e1genes logra evocar ideas m\u00e1s complejas que trascienden ese dif\u00edcil realismo, por medio de un simbolismo m\u00e1gico que brinda a la pel\u00edcula un car\u00e1cter fabulesco.<\/p>\n<p>Los animales tienen una presencia aleg\u00f3rica constante m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de los nombres de algunos personajes. De pronto, tenemos a Bailey durmiendo en un capullo. Se alude a la poderosa idea de encontrar el propio poder para trascender la existencia de un insecto y transformarse en algo totalmente distinto (es mejor no arruinar las sorpresas aqu\u00ed).<\/p>\n<p>Con esto, Arnold ofrece en <i>Bird<\/i> una mirada compasiva y esperanzadora, pero nunca ingenua, a un mundo marginal en el que es dif\u00edcil existir para una ni\u00f1a en el proceso de llegar a la adultez.
