Irene (Maeve Jinkings) recebe uma nova enfermeira em sua casa para cuidar do pai, idoso e de cama. \u00c9 surpreendida, por\u00e9m, quando a profissional diz que n\u00e3o tem jeito. &#8220;Ele n\u00e3o vai melhorar, s\u00f3 piorar&#8221;. S\u00e3o coisas que acontecem no interior do Brasil pouco visto e raramente comentado. Um Brasil profundo, mas que ajuda a compor um quadro pol\u00edtico-social em que se pensa na morte, n\u00e3o na vida. Tinha aquela coisa da diferen\u00e7a do p\u00fablico para o privado, com casos, casamentos que n\u00e3o eram de verdade&#8221;, explica a diretora. &#8220;Passei a inf\u00e2ncia vendo isso. &#8216;Carv\u00e3o&#8217; surge desse meu desejo de falar sobre os valores hip\u00f3critas dessa nossa sociedade&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Afinal, al\u00e9m das decis\u00f5es bruscas, violentas e surpreendentes envolvendo o pai da protagonista, &#8216;Carv\u00e3o&#8217; tem outros temas colocados \u00e0 baila. Casos extraconjugais, mentiras, hipocrisia religiosa, um amor homossexual que acontece escondido. &#8220;Nos \u00faltimos anos, a gente viveu uma invers\u00e3o brutal de valores, principalmente de institui\u00e7\u00f5es como a a tal &#8216;fam\u00edlia tradicional brasileira&#8217; e o &#8216;Deus acima de todos'&#8221;, comenta a cineasta, explicando sua ideia de filme. &#8220;Tudo se torna justific\u00e1vel com essas bandeiras. Tudo se tornou uma conflu\u00eancia para o que eu queria dizer com o filme&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">&#8216;Carv\u00e3o&#8217; e a pandemia<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Curiosamente, Carolina come\u00e7ou a desenvolver a ideia de &#8216;Carv\u00e3o&#8217; antes mesmo da pandemia de covid-19 &#8212; Maeve Jinkings, a protagonista, entrou no projeto ainda em 2016. No entanto, o texto do filme foi se transformando, principalmente com a chegada da pandemia, com discuss\u00f5es sobre morte, vida e sobreviv\u00eancia.  De 2016 para c\u00e1, o &#8216;roteiro Brasil&#8217; deu guinadas e plot twists t\u00e3o inesperados&#8221;, diz Maeve. &#8220;Mais do que isso: &#8216;nonsense&#8217;. N\u00e3o conseguia entender a humanidade, a forma\u00e7\u00e3o da sociedade brasileira, nossa rela\u00e7\u00e3o com viol\u00eancia. O n\u00facleo de poder e de viol\u00eancia, que estava mais centrado no traficante, agora fica mais centrado na fam\u00edlia. O roteiro amadureceu&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Carv\u00e3o - Trailer oficial\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/0qlaRgwrj-Y?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>A partir disso, &#8216;Carv\u00e3o&#8217; consegue, inclusive, trazer aspectos que viriam a ser revelados e se torna ainda mais atual e verdadeiro. O longa-metragem se aproxima, por exemplo, do que brasileiros puderam ver na Comiss\u00e3o Parlamentar de Inqu\u00e9rito (CPI) da pandemia, quando senadores descobriram que a rede de sa\u00fade Prevent S\u00eanior enxergava a morte de pacientes como algo que fazia parte daquilo. Como algo comum, at\u00e9 mesmo positivo. Abria espa\u00e7o, afinal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;O filme n\u00e3o se prop\u00f5e ser realista, mas a realidade foi minha inspira\u00e7\u00e3o. O ponto mais dif\u00edcil foi compreender a decis\u00e3o da personagem em deixar o pai dela descansar, digamos assim&#8221;, diz Maeve. &#8220;O caso Prevent S\u00eanior foi um m\u00eas depois da filmagem. \u00d3bito era alta. Para compor a Irene, conversei com mulheres, passei tempo com elas e aprendi a humaniz\u00e1-la. Aprendi a matar galinha. Aos domingos, ia pra missa. Certa vez, vi que estava tudo l\u00e1. A Irene estava no discurso daquele padre, que dizia que a gente tava vivendo a &#8216;peneira de Deus&#8217;. \u00c9 a naturaliza\u00e7\u00e3o da morte&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.filmelier.com\/br\/film\/21197\/carvao\">\u2018Carv\u00e3o\u2019 j\u00e1 est\u00e1 em cartaz nos cinemas.
