Lewis Pullman from ‘Thunderbolts’ and other actors you didn’t know were nepobabies

What you will see here:

Cinema is full of incredible stories, but some of the best happen far from the cameras. Many of the nepobabies shining in Hollywood today come from famous families but are carving their own paths.

Lewis Pullman from Thunderbolts*, does the name sound familiar?

Let’s start with a name that seems to have finally gotten its big break — according to The Hollywood Reporter: Lewis Pullman, star of Thunderbolts*. Son of veteran Bill Pullman, known for Independence Day.Lewis started his career in independent films. He gained more visibility with his performance in Bad Times at the El Royale, praised for the emotional depth and vulnerability of his character. Even amidst a cast of big names like Jeff Bridges, Dakota Johnson (another nepo baby actress we’ll feature here), and Chris Hemsworth, Pullman managed to stand out.

Unlike other nepobabies, Lewis Pullman avoids comparisons and leaning on his father’s legacy, preferring to forge his own path and make choices that prioritize project quality.

Nico Parker: Following in Thandie Newton’s Footsteps

Nico Parker caught attention in The Last of Us, as Sarah, Joel’s biological daughter, the actress also lent her voice to Astrid in How to Train Your Dragon. Daughter of actress Thandie Newton —Emmy winner for Westworld and star of films like Crash and Mission: Impossible 2 — Nico grew up surrounded by great performances and conversations about ethics and representation in Hollywood.

In 2021, she acted alongside her mother and Hugh Jackman in Reminiscence, a sci-fi film with a noir atmosphere. With only a few projects under her belt, Nico Parker has already proven she is much more than a nepo baby; with her natural talent, she is just beginning to carve out a brilliant path in the entertainment industry.

Margaret Qualley: From Ballerina to Roles with Coppola, and Awarded at Cannes

Daughter of actress Andie MacDowell — known for classics like Four Weddings and a Funeral and Groundhog Day — and former model Paul Qualley, Margaret grew up surrounded by the arts. Before dedicating herself to acting, she had a promising career in classical ballet. She studied at the North Carolina School of the Arts and later at the prestigious American Ballet Theatre.

Her film debut came with a minor role in Palo Alto, directed by Gia Coppola. In 2019, she gained more visibility with Once Upon a Time in… Hollywood, by Quentin Tarantino. However, it was in 2024 that she achieved the deserved leading role.

In The Substance, she plays the “best version” of Demi Moore’s character. The film brings forth reflections on female self-esteem and the aesthetic pressure imposed by a society that values youth above all else.

Margaret Qualley is an actress who isn’t afraid of emotional exposure on screen — and that makes her one of the most interesting figures of her generation.

Meanwhile, Andie MacDowell returned to the screen in Red Right Hand (2024), directed by Eshom and Ian Nelms (Fatman, 2020). The film follows Cash (Orlando Bloom), a man trying to leave his criminal life behind and protect his family, but is forced to confront the figure who dominates the region: Big Cat, played by Andie. The character pressures Cash to return to violent activities, and the conflict between the two drives the plot.

The film premiered on February 23, 2024, in the United States and is now reaching audiences in home media format.

Starting September 22, 2025, Red Right Hand will be available for digital purchase and rental on major streaming services. It’s a chance to see Andie in a central role, in direct confrontation with Bloom.

Niece of actor Hugo Weaving — known for iconic roles in The Matrix and The Lord of the Rings — Samara also followed a versatile path in cinema. In 2017, she starred in the horror comedy The Babysitter, alongside Jenna Ortega, and returned for the sequel The Babysitter: Killer Queen in 2020.

Famous for the Fifty Shades of grey franchise, Dakota Johnson comes from a legendary film family. She is the daughter of actor Don Johnson (Django Unchained) and actress Melanie Griffith (A Stranger Among Us), and granddaughter of Tippi Hedren, star of The Birds, directed by Alfred Hitchcock.

Despite the powerful heritage, Dakota built her own trajectory with remarkable performances and bold choices. In 2018, she starred in Suspiria, a remake of Dario Argento’s classic. The film marked her second collaboration with director Luca Guadagnino. Her intense and transformative performance helped solidify her reputation as an actress willing to take risks.

Off-screen, she has also been standing out as a producer. With projects like Am I OK?, Dakota shows interest in deeper narratives, centered on complex characters and intimate experiences.

Wyatt Russell: The New Generation of the Russell-Hawn Dynasty

Son of the iconic couple Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn, and half-brother of actress Kate Hudson, Wyatt grew up in a family deeply connected to cinema. His screen debut was as a child in Escape from L.A., starring his father.

Years later, the passing of the torch took shape in Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. In the series, Wyatt plays the younger version of the same character played by Kurt Russell — a meeting of generations that won over the audience.

In 2024, Wyatt starred in the horror film Night Swim, directed by Bryce McGuire and produced by James Wan. He also shares the spotlight with Lewis Pullman in the highly anticipated Thunderbolts*, in addition to having already stood out in the series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, from the MCU.

Jack Quaid is the son of two big names in cinema: Meg Ryan (City of Angels) and Dennis Quaid (A Dog’s Purpose). His screen debut happened in The Hunger Games (2012), in the role of Marvel, one of the tributes from District 1.

After this start in a successful franchise, Jack sought out varied projects. His goal was clear: to explore different genres and challenge his skills as an actor.
